I am so excited to announce that after headlining some of the biggest music festivals worldwide this summer, our beloved Avicii (also known as Tim Bergling), has released a brand new track, Last Dance. Although I’m not entirely sure how I feel about his latest, because it doesn’t quite sound like the original content you would expect of the Swede who has become known for his infectious sound, the track is still something unique.
Last Dance marks Avicii’s return to the original ‘Tim Bergling sound’ that he produced before becoming the mega-performer he is today. It is a playful, progressive house track with a catchy melody – this time a whistle-like element that sounds similar to his 2011 release, Street Dancer. The track also boasts a kicking bass, rolling drums, and some iconic synths, although they remain mostly in the background, which is an unanticipated but nice change. With the absence of vocals, I’m anxious to see if this gets a vocal mix and how it will alter the song.

Whats better for a house song than some great vocals? Having the ability to do the vocals yourself! After the release of You’re Gonna Love Again, NERVO has been showing up everywhere. They may not be new to music making, but I think the sound is fresh and a welcome addition to any live set. Their newest release is no exception to their style of great vocals, stylish synths, and that great big room house beat. Give it a listen to, it just might make you a groupie!

It’s that time of year again, the hill is teeming with party crawlers and the bars are about to burst. With all the hustle and bustle going on, it’s easy to get stressed. It’s time to take a breath and relax with some great glitch. Sound Remedy takes this long-time classic and perfectly melds it with some grooves and wobbles. This California based producer has been really catching my attention lately and I recommend checking out more of his tunes if you like glitch and dubstep. Don’t forget to hit the books too!

I was first introduced to Clockwork through a remix that Dillon Francis did of his song Hulk. I didn’t know what to expect from the original mix but I was surprised with a smooth but hard-hitting sound. Clockwork is back at it with his newest release Titan. It eases you into a nice comfort zone but then barrages you with a beat that would sound and feel amazing on a huge festival system. Expect to be hearing this song played at large venues with explosive results.
For some more wound-up goodness, be sure to check out the B-side BBBS. Unique is an understatement for this one. It takes a while for the song to get to the best parts, but it is worth the wait!
